Nepal's skipper Paras Khadka has expressed that Nepal qualifying for the T20 World Cup means a lot to his team, especially given the recent tragic event.
"Everyone loves and follows cricket in Nepal," he said when asked how important it was for Nepal to qualify. "There's been a lot of turmoil and stress back home. We qualifying for the World Cup would certainly send positive vibes among the people. That'll make people happy and that's what we want to do."
Speaking to ICC ahead of Nepal's opening match with the United States in Belfast, Ireland today, Khadka said he and teammates were looking forward to the tournament.
He said Ireland's cold and rainy weather had affected the team's practice, but said they will put best efforts in the field. "We've worked hard for this and we'll make the best out of it."
Nepal's match against the United States will kick off at 7 pm NST.
