Opinion Collection Committee's report endorsed


The meeting of the Citizen Relations and Public Opinion Collection has endorsed the report on the people's feedback on the draft of the new constitution.
The chairperson of the Committee Pramila Rana is set to submit the integrated report including people's suggestions on the draft constitution to the CA chair Subash Chandra Nembag by today evening.
The 46-page report was endorsed after teams of the CA members deployed in 240 constituencies across 75 districts to collect public feedback submitted their reports including people's suggestions to the Committee.
Chairperson Rana informed that the Committee received 20,722 suggestions through designated government websites, 8,800 via email, 2471 through toll free numbers, 1144 through fax and 616 feedbacks through the post.
Likewise, a total of 1,53,193 suggestions were received from different districts during interaction with the CA members.
53,000 women and 1,31,573 men provided their feedback on the draft provisions, states the report.
The 46-page long report will be turned into a 76-page integrated report, Rana said.  
The report prepared by the Opinion Collection Committee will presented before the CA meeting on Tuesday, after which it will be forwarded over to the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) to hold discussions and make necessary revision in the draft as per the report.
The Opinion Committee led a 15-day campaign from July 8 to 23 to collect people's views on the draft provisions.
