The chariot procession of Rato Macchindranath, which had been stalled since long, was postponed by a month on Monday.
The chariot procession had to be stopped for three months as a result of the April 25 earthquake and the 'malamas' or the dark month of Ashar.
Furthermore, the procession is being postponed again due to the shukra tara astha, which is starting from August 1 and is not considered auspicious, according to Chief of Guthi Sanstha Rudranath Adhikari.
The chariot procession of Rato Macchindranath began on April 22, three days before the devastating earthquake struck the country. The chariot is presently stationed at Chyasikot of Lalitpur. RSS
