324 families of landslide-prone Sindhupalchok villages shifted to safety

CHAUTARA: As many as 324 households of four VDCs in Sindhupalchok district, which are at a high risk of landslides following the April 25 earthquake, have been shifted to safer places.
According to Coordinator at the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee and Chief District Officer, Balbhadra Giri, a total of 716 families including those of Tapgaun of Gumba VDC, Rumti tole of Barhabise-7, Timbuphant and Dojung Khurchung of Helambu VDC and Ward No 9 of Chokati VDC were shifted to safer places.
Before this, 422 families of different VDCs were already shifted. CDO Giri said that they plan to shift 5,175 members of 1,663 households from 11 VDCs in the district to safer areas.
