KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) postponed its 13th general convention for September 19-22.
Party spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu told THT Online that the convention was rescheduled owing to the party leaders’ business in the constitution drafting.
Earlier, the convention was scheduled for September 10-14.
“Our leaders will be busy in feedback collection and finalisation of the constitution from mid-July to mid-August,” Badu said, “So, we cannot complete conventions of lower-level committees as scheduled earlier.”
The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the party held at the Constituent Assembly building, New Baneshwor, today, decided to reschedule conventions of all village, municipal, constituency and district committees accordingly, Badu informed.
Now, the largest political party will hold conventions of its ward, village and municipal committees on August 18, which were scheduled for July 30.
Likewise, the constituency committee conventions and district committee conventions will be held on August 24 and 27 respectively.
