A teen in Saptari passed away after being attacked by an elephant at Saptakoshi Municipality-10 on Wednesday.
Sangita Yadav, 13, who was grazing her cattle in jungle, died on the spot following an attack from wild elephant from the Koshi Wildlife Reserve, said Kanchanpur Area Police Chief Inspector Meghraj Thapa.
“An elephant appeared on the scene out of the blue and launched its attack on my friend,” said 19-year-old Shyam Ram, a witness who was accompanying Sangita when the incident took place.
However, Ram managed to flee the scene and informed the villagers about the incident. The girl was found dead today. The body has been sent to Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital for a post-mortem, the police said. RSS
