Nepal opens its SAFF U-16 campaign against Maldives

Runner-up Nepal is taking on Maldives in the opening match of the SAFF U-16 Championship at the Sylhet District Stadium on Monday (5PM local time).
Nepal is hailed as one of the favorite teams to win the championship by heavyweights, defending champion India and high flying Afghanistan, which is the other member in Group B.
The tournament is comprised of six teams—Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Maldives.  
Nepal, Afghanistan and Maldives are pitted in Group 'B' while defending champions India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are in Group 'A'. The top two teams from each group will make it to the semi-finals. Pakistan and Bhutan are not contesting in the tournament this time.
