The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday approved the government's policies and programs for the fiscal year 2015/16 with majority.
The meeting rejected the amendments proposed by various parties on the policy and programs, which was unveiled by President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on July 8..
Before the policies and programs were put to vote, parties were asked to withdraw the amendment proposal they had presented. However, UCPN (Maoist) leader Girirajmani Pokharel, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal's Sushil Kumar Shrestha, Rastriya Janamorcha's Mina Pun, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party's Anuradha Thapa Magar, who had forwarded the amendments on behalf of their parties rejected the offer.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat presented a financial survey of fiscal year 2014/15.
Earlier, House Speaker Subas Nembang read out the terms of a paper in connection to the presentation of the estimation of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2015/16 provided by the Finance Ministry.
The next parliamentary meeting is scheduled for 4 pm on Tuesday, where the Finance Minister will present the budget of the fiscal year 2015/16. RSS
