
KATHMANDU: Nepal are playing Ireland in their third match of Group A in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers at Stormont, Belfast today.
The toss of match, scheduled for 7 pm NST, wsa delayed due to wet outfield, according to the ICC’s official website.
Ireland won the toss and chose to field. Nepal are batting first for the first time in the tournament.
Sagar Pun and Anil Mandal had opened for Nepal today.
Nepal lost Mandal’s wicket in 3 overs at 18/1 and Pradeep Airee fell in LBW trap in 3.4 overs when Nepal had added one more run only. Nepal were 23/2 at the end of 5 overs.
Nepal lost Sagar Pun, who contributed 20 runs, at 28/3 in 5.4 overs. Then Gyanendra Malla and Paras Khadka also returned to pavilion cheaply.
Batsman Rajesh Pulami replaced seamer Jitendra Mukhiya in today’s match.
With two consecutive wins, one of the hosts Ireland sit on top of Group A while Nepal have four points.
Nepal, who opened the campaign with a six-wicket victory over the United States of America on Thursday before the match against Namibia was washed out yesterday, are at the second position of the standing with three points.
