A total of 39 higher secondary schools across the country had their license terminated by the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) on Monday.
According to HSEB, their license for running higher secondary level classes was cancelled after the schools had been unable to hold regular classes since two year.
Previously, HSEB had asked 71 higher secondary schools to present the clarification for failing to run the regular classes or face termination. Of the total, 39 failed to present the clarification.
Five schools each from Kathmandu and Morang had their license cancelled while two schools each from Jhapa, Makwanpur, Tanahu and Nawalparasi also faced the same consequence. Likewise, one school each from Ilam, Udayapur, Dhanusha, Dolakha, Kavre, Bhaktapur, Lamjung, Rupandehi, Pyuthan, Rukum, Bardiya and Surkhet had their license cancelled.
