The team reached Kalikot, Mugu, Humla and Jumla, requesting Chief District Officers and Local Development Officers to assist in the task. An under-secretary led team has been deployed to collect suggestions in Jumla, and section officers-led team in other districts of Karnali.
Lawmakers are scheduled to reach the districts on July 17 for public feedback. Under-Secretary of Parliamentary Secretariat Aananda Adhikari said representatives of each VDC and ward would be able to provide suggestions regarding the preliminary draft. The team is going to deploy local personnel to collect suggestions in remote areas.
“We cannot collect suggestions from all VDCs
and wards,” said Adhikari, adding that the local media should create a suitable environment to create public awareness.
According to locals, they have urged the concerned authorities to make sure they reach remote areas to collect public opinion on the preliminary draft. Section officer Rekha Upadhaya said they will call an all-party meeting before collecting suggestions in Mugu.
A team has also reached Okhaldhunga district with the preliminary draft for public feedback Sunday. According to the team, they will collect public suggestions within July 20 in both constituencies.
